I work with adults (18+) to address a wide variety of mental health concerns. Areas of expertise include anxiety, depression, and eating disorders. I have extensive experience working with college/graduate students. I provide support and tools for meeting goals during the stressful dissertation process. I am passionate about prenatal and postpartum mental health, and I enjoy assisting parents with navigating the challenges of parenthood. I am LGBTQIA+ affirming.
I have 10+ years of private practice experience as well as a background in settings ranging from hospitals to college counseling centers. Approaches I frequently utilize Include Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). CBT focuses on building coping skills and altering ineffective thought patterns. ACT promotes living one's life to the fullest through mindfulness and acceptance of difficult emotions.
As an eating disorder specialist, I am committed to helping people develop healthier relationships with food and their bodies. My work emphasizes developing tools to establish healthy eating habits, better manage emotional distress associated with eating, and shift unhelpful beliefs about food. I also focus on addressing contributing factors and deeper meanings behind the eating issues. I collaborate with physicians, psychiatrists, and dietitians to create comprehensive care.
